Carson Law is actively searching for an Assistant Financial Clerk to assist with tasks associated with the financial responsibilities required to complete real estate transactions as well as daily operations. Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Head Financial Clerk as well as to Senior Management, the Assistant Financial Clerk will act primarily in a supportive role and will be responsible for the following duties and tasks:
Report to and receive primary instruction from the Head Financial Clerk
Assist with paying vendor bills and managing accounts payable
Assist with client billing and accounts receivable functions
Assist with cheque preparation and printing
Assist with data entry of receipts and disbursements
Perform daily bank runs, both scheduled and assigned as needed
Arrange for bank drafts and/or certified cheques, as needed, to complete real estate transactions
Perform filing and organizational duties
Other duties as assigned by senior management
Projected Salary: $29, 200 per year
Projected Start Date: As soon as possible
Work hours per week: 40 hrs.
Annual Holidays: 3 weeks per year
Benefits: Dental/Medical coverage offered following the completion of 3-month probation period
Applicant Expectations/Requirements:
Carson Law is currently working to develop a reputation in the legal industry as providing exceptional customer service and communication with clients. Therefore, above all else, there is an expectation that the person acting in this role will maintain a pleasant and positive demeanor at all times if/when interacting with clients, financial institutions, and/or other law firms. Applicants will be expected to meet the following requirements:
Must have graduated from a post-secondary education program with a focus on bookkeeping and/or accounting
Must possess a desire to pursue a full-time bookkeeping and/or accounting career
Must be comfortable with standard MS office software (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Previous experience working in a law firm would be considered an asset
Previous experience using PC Law or comparable accounting software would be considered an asset
Must have access to a vehicle and valid G driver’s license
