Heart disease, stroke and related conditions take one life every five minutes in Canada and the Heart & Stroke foundation works to empower Canadians to live healthier lives. To tackle these challenges, Heart & Stroke is focusing their efforts on areas where they feel the biggest impact can be made:
◘ Fighting for prevention
◘ Saving lives
◘ Transforming recovery
◘ Investing in life-saving research
“When my mom passed away 5 years ago because of her heart, it opened my eyes to see how vital your heart is to sustain everyday functionality. When I had my kids, I was inflicted with high blood pressure, the weight bearing down on my heart made life very difficult. There were other moments I had scares where my heart wasn’t functioning properly. We all have hearts, we all deserve our hearts to be strong and healthy, no matter what our background is, our backstory, it’s our driving force.”
