For our sixth day of giving, we are happy to be donating to The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society(CPAWS)
The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is Canadaʹs most distinguished, community‐based voice for public wilderness protection. Since their inception in 1963, they have played a lead role in establishing over two‐thirds of Canada’s protected areas including such iconic provincial and national parks as Temagami, Nahanni and Kluane. CPAW is the only nationwide charity solely dedicated to this venture.
CPAWS vision is to protect at least half of the public land and water so that future generations can experience Canada’s irreplaceable wilderness. They will achieve this with the following mission:
Working together for a healthier tomorrow - CPAW works collaboratively with all levels of government, indigenous communities, industry, and other environmental groups to develop innovative conservation solutions. Protecting our public land and water - CPAWS works exclusively on public land, which makes up 90% of our country and 100% of our ocean.
50+ years of wilderness protection - Founded in the 1960s, CPAWS has been helping to create new parks and protected areas on land and in the ocean for more than 50 years.
Guarding the integrity of our parks - CPAW help establish new parks, and acts as a watchdog to ensure existing ones are managed to protect the nature within them.
Canada’s Voice For Wilderness
The sixth day of giving was chosen by our Receptionist and Brand Ambassador, Kayla Wagstaff. She chose CPAWS because of her admiration in their vision to keep Canada’s land, water, and wildlife protected so that future generations can truly experience this beautiful country we are fortunate enough to call home. “Climate change is no joke, and CPAWS does a fantastic job educating people on how they can help.
